Customer Challenge

The client is a leading mobile engagement platform in India, serving major verticals including banking, e-commerce, and government. They personalize two-way customer care and marketing interactions for over 2,000 enterprises. The platform facilitates essential real-time alerts and confirmations, benefiting millions of end consumers through secure, omni-channel communication.

Solution

Aivar designed and deployed a Proof-of-Concept (PoC) focused on Automation, Scalability, and Cost Efficiency, utilizing a modern DevOps framework.

  • Infrastructure as Code (IaC) & Automation: The entire AWS environment is provisioned using Terraform. Aivar automated the deployment of Amazon EKS, ALBs, ECR, and NAT Gateways, ensuring the infrastructure is immutable, consistent, and reproducible.

  • Modern GitOps & CI/CD Pipeline: Aivar implemented a robust, GitOps-driven CI/CD workflow using AWS CodePipeline and Helm. The pipeline automates the build process and triggers vulnerability scanning within Amazon ECR to ensure security compliance before managing synchronized deployments to EKS.

  • Scalable Architecture & Progressive Delivery: The solution leverages Amazon EKS to ensure High Availability (HA) for self-hosted services like Redis, Kafka, and MySQL across multiple Availability Zones. This containerized approach enables advanced progressive delivery strategies, including blue/green and canary deployments, allowing for safe, zero-downtime updates.

  • Event-Driven & Automated Remediation: The system handles high throughput using message queuing and caching via RabbitMQ, Kafka, and Redis. Continuous observability is achieved via Amazon CloudWatch, Prometheus, and Grafana, providing real-time data for anomaly detection that triggers automated remediation.

  • Security & Governance: Security is embedded into the IaC (DevSecOps), with strict IAM policies and encryption enforced for data at rest and in transit.

Key Outcomes

  • Validated Scalability: Successfully validated the application’s ability to handle 10,000 TPS on AWS—a 3.3x increase over legacy performance.

  • Operational Excellence: Achieved fully automated, drift-free deployments, reducing the Lead Time for Changes from 5 days to under 4 hours.

  • Guaranteed Availability: Established a resilient architecture meeting the critical 99.9% AWS Infrastructure SLA, ensuring less than 9 hours of potential annual downtime compared to previous multi-day outages.

  • Cost Efficiency: Optimized cloud spend by 25% through the use of high-performance AMD-based Amazon EC2 instances, graviton and rightsizing EKS clusters.

  • Improved Deployment Velocity: Increased deployment frequency from bi-weekly releases to on-demand daily deployments using GitOps and automated Helm charts.

By implementing these AWS DevOps best practices, the partner transformed legacy manual processes into automated, high-scale cloud-native environments. These initiatives successfully reduced operational costs by up to 60% while simultaneously increasing release velocity and system reliability.
