Customer Success Story
Migrating a Leading Fintech Platform to AWS with Zero Downtime

A leading fintech platform serving millions of users across India partnered with Aivar to migrate its entire cloud infrastructure from GCP to AWS. Aivar delivered a comprehensive migration — transitioning Kubernetes workloads, PostgreSQL databases, and supporting services — with zero downtime on the production database cutover, a robust multi-AZ architecture, and stringent security controls aligned to NIST and FSBP standards.
Customer Challenge
A fast-growing fintech platform redefining digital payments and personal finance for millions of users was running its core transaction processing and application workloads on Google Cloud Platform. With rapid expansion in user base and transaction volumes, the platform encountered critical bottlenecks around scalability, cost efficiency, and regulatory compliance. The team needed to re-architect the entire platform for performance, resilience, and future scalability — while ensuring zero disruption to live financial services including payment processing and banking integrations.
Solution
Aivar partnered with the client to execute a full-scope cloud migration — transitioning containerized applications, databases, and supporting infrastructure to Amazon Web Services using well-architected design principles. The solution included an AWS Landing Zone with secure multi-account governance, Amazon EKS for managed Kubernetes orchestration, AWS DMS for zero-downtime PostgreSQL migration to Amazon RDS, ElastiCache and RabbitMQ/SQS for optimized caching and messaging, and a multi-layered security foundation with AWS WAF, Security Hub, and GuardDuty.
Architecture
The target AWS architecture was designed for high performance, security, and future growth — comprising an AWS Landing Zone for governance, Amazon EKS multi-AZ clusters for containerized applications, Amazon RDS PostgreSQL with multi-AZ and encryption, Amazon ElastiCache (Redis) for session management, RabbitMQ on EKS with SQS for messaging, VPC with public/private subnets and NAT gateways supporting whitelisted payment integrations, AWS WAF with centralized security monitoring, and Amazon CloudWatch with CloudTrail for complete observability.
Key Outcomes
Zero-downtime migration — seamless database cutover with uninterrupted fintech services for millions of users
High scalability & redundancy — multi-AZ, redundant AWS architecture ready for rapid business growth and high transaction loads
Robust security posture — stringent guardrails and compliance standards (NIST, FSBP) adopted across all workloads
Operational excellence — fully documented, automated, and monitored environment ready for ongoing scaling
Business continuity — payment processing and banking integrations restored rapidly post-cutover
